RIP Michael Jackson - The King of Pop

RIP Michael Jackson

As a child I can not remember being more excited over a musician than how I felt when I listened to Michael Jackson. Being a child of the 80’s, to me, Michael Jackson was larger than life.

So many fond memories come flying back when I think of Michael Jackson - I can remember running in from playing in the yard to hear Michael’s new song ‘Billie Jean’, from the history making ‘Thriller’, come on the radio. What other performer could make a bunch of 6 year old’s lose their minds trying to moonwalk across the kitchen linoleum. A big smile stretches across my face when I remember going to Epcot for the first time where my little brother and I waiting for hours to watch Captain EO…only to have our minds blown at what we thought was the coolest thing we’d ever seen. And who didnt switch from Coke to Pepsi when Michael did those ‘New Generation’ Pepsi ads? Then into my teen years when Dangerous was released ( selling 32 million copies) waiting anxiously by the radio for the first singles to be released.

These fond memories are what helped to define some of the happiest times from my childhood. To see that man who brought me and millions of other people so much joy die today was a true heart breaker. It is important that we remember him for the great performer and singer he was and not the excentricities of his later life. No other performer will ever be able to match Michael Jackson. He will be forever missed. He truley was the King of Pop.

Here is the song that started a life long love for Michael’s music:

More Michael Jackson

Here is the live perfomance to show how loved he was by his millions of fans and how much of an amazing performer he really was.

The other day I found one of the greatest tumblr’s ever: familyportraits. All the whole thing is a collection of family portraits submitted by regular people. And wow…what entertainment. Like the picture above…timeless family memories.

New Music Search Engine

Since Seeqpod took a dirt nap (even though they promise to release the search engine code, yeah right!) I’ve been looking for an alternative free on-demand song player. There are a couple that require you to sign up and limit your plays and blah blah. Well found one that lets you search all day long and play them until your hearts content. http://www.songza.com !

- might be kinda cool to have a house cat almost the same size as you. As long as you dont make him angry…

Damn straight. I would HATE to be a kid right now. Nothing but shit on tv and shit on the radio…sucks for them. No body had it better than kids of the 80’s and 90’s.

HAPPY SAINT PATRICK’S DAY - Beannacht Lá Fhéile Pádraig!

I wish everyone a good St. Patty’s day. Go out and have a good time tonight. Drink, sing, be loud and be Irish.

Seo sláinte an tséitéara, an ghadaí, an trodaí, agus an óltóra!
Má dhéanann tu séitéireacht, go ndéana tú séitéireacht ar an mbás,
Má ghoideann tú, go ngoide tú croí mná;
Má throideann tú, go dtroide tú i leith do bhráthar,
Agus má ólann tú, go n-óla tú liom féin.

-Translated-

If you cheat, may you cheat death.
If you steal, may you steal a woman’s heart.
If you fight, may you fight for a brother.
And if you drink, may you drink with me.

SLAINTE!

Jason Alexander in his prime.

Anyone remember these things? I guess this is some of the biggest issues facing people in the mid 80’s…how to keep your burger hot and your veggies cool!  hahaha. Great commercial. What dorks everyone was…I miss it.

Welcome to my Humble Tumble.
This is where I come to rant and rave about whatever I feel like....and maybe some funny stuff along the way. Remember kids, the ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force.
